President’s Report : Due to an omission at the AGM andin accordance with the Constitution, Isabel was elected,once again, as our Web Secretary. This was proposed by A. Bryson and seconded by A. Lothian. Paul apologised to Isabel for this omission. B. Sherlock agreed to take on the task of organising the raffle at the monthly meetings.
Treasurer’s Report : Robert stated our financial position and reported that about 20 members had paid their fees. He is planning to have the accounts audited by Neil Anderson. We are now on Internet banking.
Press Officer’s Report : Margaret had nothing to report. She intends putting information into the Kirkintilloch Herald prior to our annual outing ( 14th July).
Social Secretary’s Report : In Wendy’s absence Adam outlined the plan for our annual trip. In addition 7 people have agreed to help out at the tea room for the Annual Show.
Speakers Secretary’s Report : Adam has produced a draft programme for next session. In view of the problems experienced at our meeting in April, Adam will test out our equipment.
Web Secretary’s Report : Isabel reported that there had been 117 visits to the Facebook page since it was restarted. There had been 38 visits to the web page inthe same period.
Annual Flower Show :
Paul has secured the services of Mr Tony Findlay to judge the horticultural exhibits at our annual show. Both judges are now in place.
Adam will once again ask his granddaughter with regards to a poster.
Andrew will print out 200 cards and Paul will guillotine them. The Fuchsia Society Schedule will be placed inside our schedule. We will set up on the Friday between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
Admission Policy. There was confusion last year regarding making a donation and charging a fee for the tea room. To be finalised at next committee meeting.
Adam mentioned that the blue coverings for the tables are nearing their end of life. Adam and Robert will assess them.
