The next meeting of KHS is our Christmas Social evening next Thursday 15 December 2022 at 7.30pm. There will be a Sick Plant corner where members can take any problem plants to have advice from one of our resident experts, also for those wishing to take part in the Secret Santa gift exchange please remember to bring along your contribution, wrapped/bagged – limit of £10 to be spent on gift.
We will have a light hearted quiz followed by refreshments – mulled wine- both alcohol-free and containing alcohol, tea, coffee, sausage rolls, mince pies and shortbread – and the opportunity to catch up with other members.
A reminder that Isabel will have the calendars available for collection and payment on the evening too.
There will be no meeting in January 2023 so the next get-together after next week will be our Annual Dinner to be held in the Broadcroft Hotel on the evening of Thursday 23 February 2023. The menu is below and if you wish to attend and haven’t already put your name down please do so at the meeting on Thursday and mark your menu choices. For anyone who cannot manage on Thursday, please let me know if you wish to attend the dinner and your choices and I will add you to the list. Please send a cheque to Robert or arrange to pay through the bank in order to minimise time spent on sorting payment on the evening of the dinner, and allow Robert to relax more to enjoy his evening.
Our November meeting was interesting, the speaker, Lauren Lochrie was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the benefits of foraging and using preparations from plants and herbs to boost health and well-being. She lives in Port of Menteith in the district of Stirling so we are enquiring about the cost of a group taking part in a foraging workshop in the estate where she lives as a possible Spring Outing for our members. More details and costs will be advised when available, meantime I would appreciate if you would take the time to let me know whether that would be of interest to you or not to allow negotiation of a group cost, please.
